History

FEALQ is a private, nonprofit organization founded in 1976 with the purpose of organizing and managing resources in order to carry out technological and socioeconomic research in the areas of applied agricultural, environmental and social sciences at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture, the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture and other units of the University of Sao Paulo, in addition to public and private institutions.

The foundation also organizes and manages courses, symposia, seminars, congresses and other technical-scientific events offered by the supported institutions. It edits books, scientific meeting proceedings and other publications for technology dissemination.

FEALQ is aware that producing and disseminating scientific and technological knowledge is a more complex task than simply mobilizing financial resources and developing services and managerial capacity.

In this sense, it continuously seeks strategic alternatives consistent with its statutory goals and current circumstances to inspire creativity, to encourage growing applied research and to develop endeavors towards greater mobilization of qualified human resources.
